Who is Eligible?

Winchester residents, regardless of income, age, race, or religion, who have insufficient access to nutritional, healthy and well balanced meals.

What is provided?

A hot meal, along with milk, juice and dessert is delivered to the recipient’s home Monday through Friday, depending on the number of days a client chooses. There is no service on the weekends, holidays or Winchester Public School snow days.

Who prepares the meals?

The Winchester Hospital Food Service Staff works under the direction of the Hospital Dietitian, who plans and supervises the preparation of meals.

Who delivers the meals?

Volunteers drive their own cars, pick up the meals at the Winchester hospital and deliver them to our clients.

Are special dietary needs met?

The Meals Coordinator works with the hospital dietitian to accommodate certain medical and dietary restrictions (Gluten-free, Coumadin, etc). See the Client Intake form for specifics.

What are the costs?

Daily

Hot meal and cold snack $5.00

Clients may choose any number of days per week

Two days $10.00

Three days $15.00

Four days $20.00

Five days $25.00

How are the costs subsidized?

Winchester Meals on Wheels is a privately funded non-profit organization that receives no Federal or State subsidies. Costs are met through payments of clients and donations from individuals, churches and civic organizations.
